Becoming Self-Reliant

Security Philosophy

Our security philosophy is anchored in continuous improvement, striving to be better than yesterday while maintaining a careful balance between complacency and paranoia.

We emphasize a deep understanding of security principles, aiming to be doctrinally sound without being rigidly bound by doctrine. Instead of measuring our success against others, we focus on becoming a hard target, enhancing our capabilities to deter threats effectively.

Recognizing the critical roles of detection and response, we ensure these systems are robust and purposeful. Our approach includes having a well-defined plan, which we adjust as necessary but adhere to diligently.

This philosophy extends to both strategic and tactical decision-making, allowing us to navigate the complex landscape of security with agility and informed confidence.

Spear Thrown

Are these the problems you’re trying to solve?

  1. A shortage of cybersecurity expertise, staff, and budget.
  2. Uncertainty about where to begin your cybersecurity efforts.
  3. Struggle to apply best practices designed for larger companies to your  smaller organization.
  4. Failure to meet necessary compliance requirements which could drive change.
  5. Requirement for high availability and “unhindered” access to learning, services, and utilities.
  6. A misconception on the part of leadership that your data is not valuable or at risk.

Let’s play to your strengths and work with your peers as a team.

  • Implement mature policies, procedures, and SOPs.
  • Leverage a customer-centric Service Desk.
  • Maximize the benefits from existing technology investments.
  • Foster a culture of learning and education.
  • Derive purpose from our mission and vision.

Tap into a broader network to protect and defend your organization without the noise.

This unique experience places you into a tight knit, trusted group of peers where you can collaborate and support each other while under the guidance of an established cybersecurity expert.

Receive coaching and 1:1 access to tackle the challenges your organization is facing. Get answers to complex questions.

In your group, we will help you baseline against NIST Cybersecurity Framework, determine the common priorities within your group, build a community of trust.

The consortium is helpful because we can come together and share as a group what we know and don’t know – solving those problems with the same mindset and realistic limitations on resources. We can work smarter not harder, and partner with the other members to solve cybersecurity challenges with Patrick as our guide.
